In September, I took a trip to Ghana to visit Ashesi University. While we were there we toured Accra, and Berekuso (where Ashesi is located). We also took some side trips to Kakum National Park, and to Village of Hope Orphanage.
Here are some of the images I took while in Ghana:
Drum Maker's Hands
Girl With the Big Steel Bowl
White Dress
The Burdens We Carry
Boy With a Bird
Feel free to scroll through my site to view more images of Ghana.
In my next post I'll feature some photos of Ashesi University.
Thank you for stopping by!

It's Beginning to Look at Lot Like ...
Wow - the holidays are upon us! I'm beginning to think about what to prepare for our family dinners, and looking forward to gathering together. I'm also thinking about what to give as gifts for Christmas, and for those late-in-the-year birthdays in my family. I've found often that a photo is a welcome present, especially one printed on metal. On the wall, a metal print can seem like a window to the outside.
Here are some images that bring that to mind for me:
This one evokes memories of summer with a brilliant orange larger-than-life nasturtium:
SPICY
Our days have become cooler here, and this image brings to mind cold, sparkly mornings~
FROSTED
Sometimes a sunset will hold me captive, even long after the glow has left the sky:
GOOD FRIDAY SUNSET
I have a soft spot for black and white images, especially dreamlike ones:
FALL IN BLACK AND WHITE
Nothing like looking closely at a lily:
CURLICUE
For the back-yard bird-watchers in your life:
PEEK
I hope you find something you like~
Thanks for stopping by!

Falling for Fall
As I drive to work I'm amazed to see leaves still clinging to trees, some almost completely full, and some trees entering the full nakedness of winter sleep.

Bugs and Bees - Caught in a Photo
If you're not an insect person, then this isn't the post for you. However, if you love to see things on a smaller scale, perhaps through a macro lens, bugs and bees can be very captivating subjects. If you can catch one that remains still enough to sit for a portrait!

Car Logos
If we don't automatically recognize a car by its lines, we do know the logos. These symbols that identify and define the kinds of cars we see intrigues me. I love how the ordinary logo becomes something new in the light of the outdoors, catching reflections, or in dappled shade, sometimes looking shiny and new, other times showing years of road wear proudly.
Here are a few I particularly like:
What logos do you like? Let me know, and I'll see if I can photograph them to include here.
Enjoy! R

Today's focus is on car details. I love looking closely to see what I might find, and car shows are a great place to find some intriguing details~

Black & White is Beautiful
Ever the classic, a photo in black and white holds a story of its own. It has the power to transport the viewer deeper into the realm of imagination.

The Color Red
I find that color really draws me. It tugs at my attention and won't let go, and at times it creates a physical reaction that is almost energizing.

RED TULIP II
LIL RED
